Staff training
Jetlag. I don't like Jetlag.
06/20/2008
So now we have moved up to ueda city, in Nagano. We (the staff) are all living together in a huge house together with mr.Sase, an old man who's kind enough to let all of us stay here for a few days. Yuki, the newest addition to the team (atleast from our perspective) is fitting in perfectly.

Starting today, we have three days of rather intense staff traning. It's so exighting, and I'm loving the lectures. It is somewhat scary, this is leadership on a whole other level than what I've been dealing with before. (with both good and bad consequenses)
These people pay to go. And most of them are most likely a lot older than me. In addition, the program lasts for a long time. If everything goes wrong the first week, that probably won't go away for some time.
On the good side:
They payed to go. That means they're interested in having fun here as well. They are grownups, and I doubt they'll be hard to deal with as long as I'm being reasonable. (and don't tell anyone my age :3 )
And I'm luckily just an assistant after all. I'm still here to learn, and I cannot wait to get this program started.
In other news, I have my own businesscards now! They gave them to all members of the staff, hoping that we can exploit every opportunity we have to make connection and potential participants/sponsors etc. In addition we now have matching shirts to ware in official meetings etc. I suspect this is a consequence of especially my own and maybe Guangs dressing habits in general. But either way it's awesome.

Myself and Guang looking sharp.
Everyone is nice, and I'm having a great time. The only downside is that the jet-lag has got me. It has got me bad. I usually start getting sleepy around four or five, and after six I'm generally completely out of it. In addition I've been waking up at six ever morning, even though I force myself to stay up until twelve.
Fuck it.
Tonight I'm so tired I'm going to sleep at eleven.
Otherwise, me and Guang are assisting Dennis with a team building exercise that we are going to have the first week. We split people up into four groups, and give them each their own "culture". Two were readymade, two we had to make up.
They are to interract with eachother, and learn as mutch about eachoters habits as possible. It's all very obvious and surreal. The best one we came up with was people called "kirifu". If anyone they talk to refer to themeself as "I", they get basicly scared. They turn around, take their hands over their eyes and count to five, before they turn back around with their hand up expecting a high five. (that is a good luck sign in their culture)
In addition will they with a raised hand be expecting a high-five whenever you mention the number five.
We're also working on a concept that means that all the cultures have a special reaction if someone sneezes. The barrabarabikkii will do "duck and cover" for example.
This will be awesome.
To finish this, I NEED to publish this. It's our boss, Hiro, playing on Guangs sisters pink DS. It's too good not to share.
And today the man used the word "dude" a few times thanks to me. I'm really making a difference here. o/
So, that's all for now. Thanks for reading, and I hope you're doing good! ![]()
